Anyway, please feel free to suggest what i should get other than what I listed as this is only a idea.

100$ Antec Nine Hundred Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

120$ GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3R LGA 775 Intel P45 ATX Intel Motherboard
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813128359

350$ BFG Tech BFGEGTX2801024OC2E GeForce GTX 280 1GB 512-bit
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814143144

120$ CORSAIR CMPSU-750TX 750W ATX12V
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817139006

220$ Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 Kentsfield 2.4GHz
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819115017

110$ CORSAIR XMS3 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820145220

230$ Western Digital VelociRaptor WD3000HLFS 300GB 10000 RPM
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822136322

22$ SAMSUNG Black 22X DVD+R 8X DVD+RW
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16827151175

Now this is roughly 1300$ and is a bit out of my price range. And when posting this i noticed most of htis stuff is not on sale. So If there are some things i can do to lower the price that would be cool. Thanks guys :P

I'd switch the video card to this evga. The overclock on the one you listed isn't worth the extra $100: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130492

The ram you listed is DDR3 which is not compatible with your processor or motherboard. Regular Corsair DDR2 will work fine. You don't need crazy fancy ram unless you plan on overclocking. (And you MUST get DDR2 for the processor you list). Also, to take advantage of dual channel ram, get sticks in multiples of 2 (so, 2x2GB if you want that much ram...a decision which is affected by your operating system choice...otherwise 2x1GB).

I noticed the cpu you chose is a quad core, and is out of stock. The vast majority of games are only starting to utilize 2 cores; full utilization of 4 cores is a ways off. This CPU should be plenty of power, particularly since you're trying to get back within your budget: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819115036

The 10k rpm harddrives aren't worth the enormous cost. The Western Digital Caviar Black drives are as fast for all intents and purposes, and a good deal cheaper per GB.

What are you planning on using for an operating system?

Lefty, there are some DDR3 motherboards for socket 775, but that's not one of them.
