First build, blank screen

This is my first build and I cannot get the computer to POST. There are no beeps of confirmation or to signal that there is an error. My system consists of a
Gigabyte motherboard (GA-MA79OX-UD4P)
AMD Phenom II x4 3.0GHz Deneb Black Edition Processor
Geforce 9600 GT manufactured by ZOTAC
One stick of ram (2GB) DDR2 8500 1066Mhz manufactured by OCZ
Zephyr power supply 750 watts
and a NZXT Alpha black case steel mid-tower
I connected everything that I would need to boot up my computer (Video card, ram, processor), connected the monitor, and turned on my computer, nothing happened at all on the monitor. Inside the computer all of the fans turned on and no strange sounds were being made, but I wasn't sure if that indicated everything is working. After I tried that I switched out my video card for my old one an 8400 GT by PNY which I knew worked. The system still would not boot up. I then went to replace the RAM with a stick of 256mb ram that I also knew worked. Again the system would not boot up. Now I am wondering, what is the problem? is it the processor or the motherboard that is having issues and how do I tell which one or what is wrong with it?

I just did that and the system still will not boot. I did it with every possible combination of working and new parts.

Make sure you have all the aux power connections made: the 8 pin to the motherboard and the 6 pin to the video card.
