New build
Just prepping to put together a new machine, would like a little input as to whether it's any good or recommendations for alternative parts. I'm in the UK, so please bear that in mind. Budget is around £700-800.
Going for an AM3-based AMD/ATI build. Have shopped around a bit for prices, just linking from ebuyer for convenience. Prices may not match Ebuyer's listed. CPU AMD Phenom II X3 720 2.8GHz Socket AM3 6MB L3 Cache Retail Boxed Processor - £116.03 http://www.ebuyer.com/product/159071 MOTHERBOARD ASUS M4A78T-E 790GX Socket AM3 ATX Motherboard - £99.97 http://www.ebuyer.com/product/161328 RAM Corsair XMS3 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 10666C9 1333MHz TwinX Dual Channel (TW3X4G1333C9) - £57.29 http://www.ebuyer.com/product/166463 GRAPHICS CARD XFX ATI Radeon HD 4890 1GB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card - £159.99 http://www.ebuyer.com/product/160942 PSU Corsair TX 650W ATX SLi Compliant Power Supply - £73.99 http://www.ebuyer.com/product/135514 HDD Seagate ST3500418AS 500GB Hard Drive SATAII 7200rpm 16MB Cache - £41.76 x2 http://www.ebuyer.com/product/158860 DVD LG GH22NS30 22x DVD±RW SATA Dual Layer ReWriter (Black/Beige) £21.99 http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showpr...odid=CD-094-LG CASE CM Storm Scout Case - £79.99 http://www.ebuyer.com/product/165238 Totalling approximately £690. I'll probably add a couple of fans, a controller and maybe some other little extras. USB card for extra ports, you know. Everything look good? Should I change anything? I'll be using my old peripherals for the time being. Windows 7 RC or my copy of WinXP as the OS. Last edited by sweetcc; 06-07-2009 at 08:06 PM. |

I'm just used to splitting my data across multiple drives.
Need some RAM recommendations as they've sold out of what I'd chosen. |
