I think you should start over - first of all, Tiger Direct sells distressed merchandise. Stick with Newegg.
2 strikes on the motherboard - XFX, and Nvidia chipset. Recommend an Asus board with an Intel chipset, like a P5Q. For games, you are much better off with a fast dual core than a slow quad. Look at a E8500. Caviar Blacks are better than Blues. You do not need 1000 watts, and Xion is junk. A Corsair around 650 watts is plenty. You do not need DHX memory, standard C5 is fine. You should use a SATA burner. |

Which Asus motherboard would you recommend exactly?
Am I fine by sticking with an Intel processor instead of AMD? If the AMD is superior, which should I get? >< What about the graphics card, which do you prefer? A Geforce or Radeon equivalent? Sorry for the questions, heh. Last edited by Smoothmaydie; 06-11-2009 at 02:32 AM. |

Someone else is going to have to continue advising you, I don't do AMD builds.

If you want to go all out AM3,That Ram is DDR2 the motherboard is DDR3.
This is the Tri-Core you want http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...nom%20II%20720 Here is Ram you will want to go with it http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231193 Big question here though, do you plan on using all 3 PCI-Express slot on that motherboard? 3 Video cards possibly? If not save your cash and get this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131366

If you are going to use 2 video cards, you are going to need more than a 650 watt PSU.

The ATI website has lists of certified power supplies for all their multiple card configurations.
http://game.amd.com/us-en/crossfirex...nents.aspx?p=3 The 4890 is not yet listed. |

If you're planning on adding a second video card later as an upgrade, don't. 1 next-gen card almost always outperforms 2 older cards, and the added cost in motherboard, powersupply, and video card hardware would be better invested in a single higher-end card. Running multiple cards makes sense if you have to have the absolute bleeding edge, and run multiple top-of-the-line cards side-by-side.
