another first build opinion thread

Working on putting together my first computer.
Just wanted some opinions on my choices. Pros/Cons anything I can replace to save money etc.
Computer is going to be used mostly for gaming.

I'm using this monitor ASUS VH242H

I'd get a WD Caviar Black instead of a SE. It's considerably faster. They start at 500gb.

Not much of a price difference in the two.
Sounds like a good idea to me.

switch the dvd burner to a sata drive instead of ide.

Those STEALTHXSTREAM units aren't very reliable.
Well. Actually they are OK for mid range and basic home PCs.
I wouldn't recommend them for running hardware with increased power demands.
I ran an HD4870 with one and the voltage on the 12V dropped all the way to 10.76.
A high amp single rail power supply by CORSAIR or PC P&C would be a much better choice, in case you ever decide to install a heftier video card.

The 9800GTX+ is a very power hungry card - you would be better off with a 650TX. It's on sale for the same price, and the rebate is only $10 less.
