Final List

Well, turns out I'm actually really tight on budget... ****ing driving lessons. So I've had to put in £400 out of my £1200 on driving lessons, now I only have £800 left for a computer. I've gotten my months paycheck and have made it to around £950... (had to spend some of it on some more driving lessons).

SO.

Budget: £950
Purpose: Most likely gaming and other Computer Science related activites (loads of processes will be running at the same time, I'll be oding a lot of programming/designing/modelling etc simultaneously).

As such this is what I've come up with;

Power Supply
620W Corsair HX Series Modular SLi PSU, ATX, EPS 12V, whisper quiet, 5 year warranty

NOTE: The 1GB is not available on scan.co.uk, as I gain free shipping on scan.co.uk, I will require all parts to be ordered from here.

RAM
6GB (3x2GB) Corsair XMS3 DDR3, PC3-12800 (1600MHz), 240 Pin, Non-ECC Unbuffered, CAS 9-9-9-24

Net Total: £810.67

VAT: £121.60

Total: £932.27

So, I just got it within my budget, obviously making this cheaper would be lovely, as it'd give me a chance to pay for more driving lessons. Anyway, as you can see the biggest expense is on the case, scan.co.uk are very limited on cases and I've always loved that case, however it is extremely expensive.

Any thoughts, suggestions etc?
I'll be building this myself, so any tips would also be useful when it comes to these items, my last build was 2 years ago.

NOTE: I have previously an old computer with only it's PSU broken;
AMD ATHLON 3500+ 64 bit (Older system)
Intel E6580 Core Duo
Asus P5W Deluxe
ATI Radeon 1950XT
3GB Corsair 800MHZ
Lite-on Optical Drive (I'll be using this in my new build)
250GB Seagate 7200rpm HDD (I'll be using this in my new build)

What do you suggest doing with these old parts? I might buy a cheap PSU and just use that, but otherwise I have no clue what to do with them.

So yeah....?
