Building with SATA for the first time, problems installing Windows
Rebuilding a computer...new motherboard, 2 new SATA drives, new Windows OEM..but the rest of it is reused from a previous build. BIOS recognizes the two SATA drives, but when we try to install Windows XP Pro, it won't recogize it. A friend said they might need a low level format? Any ideas are appreciated.

You'll need the motherboard SATA drivers on a floppy, and hit F6 during Windows setup to load them.

Set SATA to IDE in the Bios.

That's only necessary if you can't get the drivers loaded from a floppy.
