Please Take a Look, New Build

I've built 3 computers before, all succesfull. I'm ready to do it again. Budget is $ 1000.00

I've built a wish list at NewEgg, coming in at $911. I will use a DVD RW from my old computer. I will load XP HOME that I already have and get the updates online. I've got a monitor, and speakers, keyboard, mouse.

Please check out my list and give me your thoughts. I'm looking for expandability in a couple years.

Good start, here are my suggestions.

First, go with the Asus P5Q Pro instead of the Gigabyte motherboard.
Next, go with either the E8500 dual core CPU or if you want quad, step up to the Q9550. The Q8xxx series was not a homerun for Intel.
Next, avoid Ballistix RAM, its problematic. I'd pick up Corsair XMS instead.
Lastly, your motherboard has integrated LAN, no need for the card.

I don't see intergrated lan on this MB. Am I correct? Why do you like the ASUS MB Better? Price? Quality?

Thanks

That motherboard does have Gigabit Lan onboard. Asus offers much better quality and support.

You don't need 1066 ram, 800 is fine.

The q8400 is a poor performer in comparison to the e8400
