Question Help needed for a new build

This is the first time i'm trying to build a new pc, so i did some research and this is what i came up with. so please review and suggest any better alternative.

CPU - Intel Core 2 Duo E8300 2.8 Ghz, L2 cache 6 MB.

MotherBoard - Intel DP45SG/DX48BT2/DG45ID (either one of the mentioned three. Does DP45SG and DX48BT2 supports DDR2 also ?. Is there a better alternative board from other manufacturers ?).

HDD - Seagate Barracuda SATA 2 320 GB, 16 MB cache.

RAM - 4 GB (Please recommend a memory module both DDR2 and DDR3. Is performance boost given by DDR3 10066 Mhz / 1333 MHZ significant enough to choose DDR3 over DDR2 800Mhz ?).

Video Card - Nvidia Geforce 9600GT/9800GT.

Tower & PSU - (Please recommend a good Tower & PSU).

please excuse me for my poor english .

Thanks in advance.

See if you can get a e8400 instead.

For a mb, look for a asus p5q.

For hard drive: western digital caviar black. 500gb is a nice size.

ram: you can be fine with 2x2gb ddr2-800. Good brands are corsair, g. skills, crucial, mushkin, a-data.

case: is a personal preference as to what you like.

PSU: a corsair 550 should be good.

Of course, this all depends on budget and what your primary use is. I assume it's for gaming.

Don't forget a dvd burner, and an operating system.

Boom Help me choose better

Thanks for the reply

it does not matter if i mention the budget, there's a lot of price difference variation at my place compared to the parts that are available at newegg.

I have revised my pc configuration posted earlier and also the dealer i met proposed another configuration, so i have psoted My / Dealer configuration both below, please review and help me choose better .

I not interested in overclocking and dont care about using SLI much?

Processor - Core 2 Duo E8400 3.0 GHz 6MB L2 Cache / Core 2 Quad Q8200 2.33 GHz, 4MB L2 Cache (Is Core 2 Quad better than Core 2 Duo ?)

Mobo - Intel DP45SG /( MSI P7N SLI Platinum or Asus P5Q-VM).

RAM - Corsair XM3 DDR3 2 x 2GB 1333 MHz / Corsair XM2 DDR2 2 x 2GB 800 MHz. (G Skill and Mushkin not available here. whats your thought on Kingston Hyperx RAM's ? and i was also told that the DDR3 RAM's in market are not bug free, Is it true?)

Video Card - GeForce EVGA 9800 GT 512 MB / GeForce Zotac 9800 GT 512 MB (I dont have any idea about the difference b/w them ).

Chasis and PSU - Cooler Master Elite 335 and Cooler Master Real Power Pro 650W.

HDD - Westren Digital Caviar Black 500 GB WD5001AALS.

No doubts with the remaining parts like display, dvd burner....

open for any other better alternative suggestion, if it's around the price range of already mentioned parts.

the q8200 is not nearly as good for gaming as the e8400 dual core. More cores does not automatically mean better performance.

We highly recommend ASUS motherboards; fewer headaches, very reliable. I'd stay away from MSI boards. If you're on a budget, gigabyte are pretty good, but ASUS is the gold standard around here.

With a core2duo you don't need DDR3, it's a waste of money.

That video card is a generation old. If you can get an ATI 4870 or 4870x2, they're some of the best bang/buck cards (for a gamer, you don't want to skimp on the gpu).

Look for a regular P5Q that takes DDR2. The P5Q-VM is a micro size board with onboard video.

EVGA is a higher quality card than Zotac.
