Question Re-build

I am starting a rebuild of my wife's computer. I'm going to keep the case and probably the dvd burner. It has an old agp video card so I know I have to replace the power supply. I was thinking about an AMD Phenom II. My wife doesn't play too many games so she doesn't need a top of the line video card. She has a 19 in. LG monitor. I don't have a lot of money to spend so I could use some help getting started. I would like to keep it under $500.00.

I will need a motherboard, cpu, memory, video card and power supply and hard drive. Any help and opinions would be great.

Needs for motherboard, network card, sound card and pci express slot. I would welcome a firewire port as well.

Could probably get by with on-board video and sound. They are pretty good these days.
This Asus board has DVI video output: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131318
An FSP 400w for on board video or low end video card.
Network and sound are intergrated into all boards these days.
Ram: Corsair XMS
Would suggest going to a SATA hardrive. Boards today generally have only one IDE connection and the controllers can be fussy to get to work.

I agree with Flanzig, I like that motherboard a lot, the 8200 nvidia onboard video is very capable and will even play games like World of Warcraft and handle Blu-ray if you ever need to go with that.
The CPU I recommend with this motherboard is the AMD 7850, it is a little hot rod and performs extremely well for the price.
