Nic?

Okay, so for my first build I have everything all picked out, but a NIC. Will I Need one? What will get me by for online gaming. The internet we use is Charter I think, with a Netgear cable modem gateway, and the Mobo for the computer will be an Asus P5Q Turbo Any suggestions?

You won't need one you have on board LAN, so that's one less thing you have to buy (Just make sure you install the motherboard's drivers!).

There is a gamers NIC out there but the PC gaming magazines and computer magazines overall said it is a waste of money because there is no noticeable difference in latency.

Yeah I've thought about getting it just to check it out but I'm having doubts since I haven't seen one decent review on them. There is only one time I haven't used onboard LAN and that was my first e-machine desktop that didn't have a onboard LAN so I bought a NIC and installed it.
