Makes no difference it is all good with SATA, there is no master or slave.

Khalil, sorry was just a bit confused cause someone on youtube said Sata 1 ran like 3gb/sec and 2 ran 6/gbs or something. But Can you explain Master and slave?
This is like primary and then like side hard drive right? And there is switch at back tochange it?

IDE needed the Master/Slave configuration because two devices shared a cable. SATA devices each have their own cable and port so there is not need for any hierarchy. The port number you use to plug into the motherboard doesn't matter as long as the HDD order is the way you need it in BIOS. I don't know what you mean about the speed. All SATA devices will have a 1.5 or 3 Gbs speed although actual speed will vary.

for very old sata motherboards that do not autodetect sata ii (3.0 gb/s) you must set the jumper to work in 1.5 gb/s mode. the most famous case of this is the via VT8237

The labels on your motherboard are SATA1 through SATA 4 or something, just numbering the ports.

There are two versions of the SATA specification, the original SATA (running at 1.5Gbps) and SATA2, the newer spec running at 3Gbps (theoretically). The 1 and 2 on your motherboard have nothing to do with the versions of the SATA specification.

Looking at that motherboard it's probably because it didn't support sata 3.0.
