New PC Built - USB Mouse Issue
Hi, im fairly new to the forums and hoping someone more knowledgable than myself might be able to help me resolve my current problem before i give myself an aneurysm. Ok i just built my first pc with parts from newegg. The build consisted of:
Gigabyte ga-ma770t AMD Phenom 710 cpu WD 500gb Black HD Crucial DDR3 Ram Corsair 400w single rail psu Sapphire 4850 512mb Vapor-x video Sony DVD Drive Lancool K7 The build went off without a hitch for the most part. Installed XP Pro SP3 and everything is running great except for 1 vexing annoyance that i cant seem to figure out; I can't get my mouse to work via USB port! I have checked the bios and enabled USB for keyboard and mouse. I have my keyboard plugged into a USB port and it works just fine. Its only the mouse that wont work for some odd reason. Luckily my mouse came with a ps2 adapter. So now im wondering if there is a compatibility issue between the gigabyte chipsetset and XP Pro 32bit or? Would really appreciate it if anyone had any thoughts on why this is occurring or what i might do to resolve this pesky little problem as its the only thing keeping this from being a flawless build. Thanks alot |
