Looks good however, you might want to get this quad core/motherboard combo for the same price instead of the one you linked to: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboD...t=Combo.211661

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817341016 OCZ are experiencing issues with their power supplies, this is why they are going so cheap, here is the power suplply you want http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817104053

Remember, when it comes to power supplies, cheaper is not a good thing. Quality is paramount.

Regarding your recommendations, are you suggesting that a 3.1GHz dual core with a nvidia based motherboard at the same price as a 3.0GHz quad core with an AMD based motherboard is a better deal? Regarding the power supply, the model I'm recommending, I've used for over 12 months in half a dozen builds all of which were tested for a few days to make sure everything was running properly, the power supply also has good reviews on newegg and other sites. The power supply you recommended has very little reviews (and some are very negative) and is over priced for the amount of wattage and amperage it provides. If a alternative is needed, something like this would be better: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817371015

Well you can go with AM2 based system, I am seeing no advantage at all with the DDR3 memory when it comes to gaming.
Here is the hardware that will work very nicely for you and put you within your budget.
AMD 7850 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819103678
Asus Motherboard http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131381
Power Supply http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817104053
with the rest of the hardware you picked puts you at $543 before shipping

Was that a serious response to my comment or are you kidding around Masaki? While you were building half a dozen machines I built over 1400.

As far as I know HIS makes good cards but I have never used or sold one. Maybe glc can chime on that one. I recommend Asus because they have awesome customer support, they don't hide behind a website. If you have a problem you can actually call and speak to a person.

How many of those 1400 machines used the power supply I recommended? I stated that I built half a dozen machines using that OCZ power supply model, that doesn't mean that I only build with OCZ power supplies and it doesn't mean that I only built half a dozen machines. I'd also like to point out that the AMD 7xxx series is more or less obsolete replaced by the Athlon II X2 series. A 2.9GHz Athlon II X2 costs less and is faster than the Athlon X2 7850: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819103687.

Actually going back and looking at what you recommended (the 945 with the Asus board) is actually a great choice but OP was out of budget already, my recommendation put him where he wants to be price wise.
When a power supply manufacturer begins having issues then starts dropping their prices drastically ($33 for a 500W, does that make sense?) to get rid of stock, wisdom tells me to stay away and not recommend the product to people.
I have used the same exact power supply you recommended and several of them were defective. We need to protect the reputation of our forum by giving sound advice when it comes to hardware, people come here relying on us to help them not throw their money away on junk. That Asus motherboard with the nvidia 8300 chipset is one of the best most robust motherboards I have used and I am using it in a lot of my systems, over 300 so far with no failures.
OCZ is black listed in my book currently, I have been in contact with them and informed them that I will no longer recommend them or buy their power supplies till the issues are resolved.
I am not a significant builder in the scheme of things but I do post on several university forums and my opinion is widely respected.

Yes the motherboard will come with all the cables you need. The case will have a bag or a little box full of all the screws you will need for the build.
