New build....with some old parts

I am thinking about upgrading some major parts of my computer. The case, power supply, dvd, hard drives all will be kept while i upgrade the cpu, mobo, vid car, ram, and OS.
Here is where i am at:

Case: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811144026
Power supply: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817139002
Then i will get:
cpu mobo ram vid card OS

With this mobo(or any newer one).....will i be able to connect multiple hard drives of the older connection format(36GB raptor)? I have 1 sata hard drive and everything else is of the older style.
Should i be concerned with the size of the vid vard inside this case?
The last system i built is in my sig....which was about 5 years ago. Is building a computer still straight forward as it was back then?

That case might be too small for this video card. That motherboard has only 1 IDE connector which means you will be able to connect 2 hard drives of the old style. If you do that you need to make sure and get a SATA optical drive. The Raptor 36Gig is SATA so there is no issues there. Building computers is still the same but you need to be aware socket i7 can be tricky to setup.

I am currently using THIS........but it looks like size dimensions are not listed on vid cards. After looking at each card's side view image, it does appear that the 4850 might be a little longer. Are most cards nowadays that long?

lol, now that you say that about the raptor....there is a sata connection.........its been a long time since i messed with all that.

The Raptor has BOTH types of power connectors - and you can only use ONE, doesn't matter which one.

I just checked the space in the computer, and i still have about 2 inches of space between the vid car and the hard drive bay. I dont think that the 4850 is 2 inches longer than my 1950pro....?
