Problem loading OS onto new build.
System as follows:
Antec III w/Earthwatts EA500D CPU - AMD|PH II X2 550 AM3 3.1G RT MB - GIGABYTE | GA-MA770T-UD3P MEM - 2Gx2|GSK F3-10600CL9D-4GBNT R VGA - XFX HD-485X-YDFC HD4850 512M RT HD - 160G|ST 7K ST3160813AS HD - 250G|ST 7K 8M SATA2 ST3250310AS System posts and appears to be working, as I can enter bios setup, boot menu, etc. Inserted XP disk and booted from cd ... 1st install of XP w/SP2, system would not copy the following files: XPStartU.wav per_intr.swf per_seg1.swf per_seg3.swf per_seg5.swf wmerrenu.dll tourP.exe xptht26D.jpg p3.sys ks.sys modem.sys win32k.sys webcheck.dll so they were skipped ... The restart during install produced the following error: Stop: c000021a Tried to repair via Recovery Console, but it asked for a non-existent Admin password which I couldn't provide so I reformatted the HDs and tried to reinstall. 2nd attempt to install XP w/SP2, the system would not copy the following files: p3.sys ks.sys modem.sys parport.sys shell32.dll urlmon.dll wldap32.dll win32k.sys ndisuio.sys skipped again ... and the restart during install produced the following error: Stop: c0000221 {Bad Image Checksum} The image wow32.dll is possibly corrupt. Any suggestions as to where I should go from here? What additional info can I provide to assist you in pointing me in the right direction? Thanks in advance, John |

Is it an original XP cd or a copy of one? If its a copy - use the original..
Couple specs of dust on the cd and or cd drive can cause the error's you've been getting.
