I’m budgeting around $800-$1000 for this, so far this is what I’m thinking:
CPU - Core2 E8400 Motherboard - ASUS P5Q-EM DO LGA Memory - Kingston DDR2 PC2-8500 HyperX 4GB Dual Channel Kit Video Card - ASUS Radeon HD 4870 DK 512MB GDDR5 PCI-E Case - ANTEC Titan 650 Server Case [650W PSU] Optical Drive * 2 - LG 22X Internal SATA w/Lightscribe Black I will be doing some gaming, photo editing… Any suggestions on the build… anything I’m missing or should consider?? Thanks in advance |

Looks good but you will need a hard drive .
If you'll be doing a lot of photo editing consider getting a Western Digital 1TB drive. What OS will you use ?

Ummm
I'm not sure about OS, might stick with XP until I can get my hands on Windows 7.
HD I was thinking of getting 2, one for backup: SEAGATE 3.5" 500GB 7200 RPM 16MB SATAII |

If you've already got XP then use it but if you don't check out the Vista with free Windows 7 upgrade coupon that's being offered now : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16832116677

I would go wth Kingston Value Ram http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820134641 or Corsair http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820145195 and save some money getting the DDR2 800. I would also stay away from Seagate for now, they have yet to correct some major issues they are having. I would go with a Western Digital Black.

If you are getting a video card, get a standard P5Q. You picked a micro ATX board with onboard video.
