Basically I want something that will run as well as possible on games for under $800 without anything unnecessary. Any suggestions?

That motherboard is a problem waiting to happen. I would go with a P45 and an Asus instead of a Gigabyte. Pam is spot on, Rosewill power supplies are garbage and I would get the Antec case she recommended.
The 9800GTX is not a good gaming card compared to others in the same price range, for the same price I would get this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...i%204850%201gb much better gaming capabilities.
