Welcome to pcmech
Good CPU, Asrock is not recommended, I would go for this http://www.dabs.com/products/asus-am...48750000-50626 instead, Nvidia 9800GT is not a high end card, here is a much better card http://www.dabs.com/products/asus-at...tml?refs=50626 a high end card won't fit in your budget.

Khalil, could you please elaborate on why the 4670 is better than the 9800GT? In all the benchies I've looked at the 9800GT beats the 4670 by ~50%..

I don't rely on benchmarks, I have 2 computers in my house one is my daughter's which I put in a 9800GT and my son's which I built 6 months later and that has a 4670, both machines are running on Asus M3N motherboards and AMD 6000 processors with the same amount of memory.
They both play WOW and EQ2, the 4670 gets 15-20 more fps in EQ2, the game has a built in fps counter.
Another game they both enjoy is need for speed-undercover, installed it on both machines, again the 4670 out performed the 9800GT, you can see and feel it in the game.
I figured something was wrong with that one Asus 9800GT so I replaced it, still, the 4670 is out performing it, to keep things even I ended up putting a 4670 in my daughter's machine. Now both play the same. By the way, they both use Asus 22" wide screen LCD.
I hope this answers your question.

EDIT: If benchmarks are important to OP here is an ATI card that scores higher with most benchmarks than the 9800GT for about the same money http://www.lambda-tek.com/components...prodID=B229485
Here is the benchmark http://www.neoseeker.com/Articles/Ha...i9800gt/6.html
I was never impressed with the 9800GT or 9800GTX, in my opinion anything less than a GTX275 from Nvidia and one is better off buying an ATI.

XFX tends to have more issues- HIS or Sapphire are good brands.
The case you picked is a mid-tower ATX, your parts should work.
Would look to Corsair/crucial/G-Skill for the ram. Kingston has had issues.
500w PSU would be a good size-look to Corsair/Antec/Seasonic/FSP for quailty brands.

Asus is HIGHLY recommended for motherboards. I know you might think that we are being picky with brands, but when it comes to something you are investing this much money in it is very much worth it to get good quality stuff and good quality customer service. You don't want to buy a video card and then have it break down in a month and not be able to get a new one.

Asus M3A76-CM mATX
or
Asus M4A78-EM AM2+ 780G
will be much better and look like they cost less, also, it says that the M4A78 is a mATX board which according to newegg is not true, it is a full ATX board.

Kingston has fixed their problems - we can recommend it again.

The "EM" version is in fact mATX. *ALL* Asus boards that have a "M" anywhere after the hyphen are mATX.

DDR3 is the future however the current DDR3 stuff is not really that much better than DDR2
I think the AMD 940 will work much better for you than that 9650, the 940 is still DDR2
