Thermal Paste

Hi,

I have an AMD X4 945 3.0 Ghz, and I was wondering if I needed thermal paste for installation. I would also like to overclock the CPU a bit as well. Which aftermarket heatsink/fan would you pro's recommend? Thanks,

Dan

You do need some kind of thermal paste. All stock coolers come with paste already applied, and some aftermarket HS/Fs come with some too - but if you're dishing out the money for an aftermarket HS/F, might as well spend another $5 and get Arctic Silver 5, which is generally considered the best.

Not much experience with specific HS/Fs so I'll let someone else handle that.
