I need help picking out components for my new build
I'd like to build a computer that can play great games and do some video editing like home movies, gaming montages, and pics etc.etc. ... i'd also like to be able to have a nice clear way to stream online....i've got 2 things picked out already and need help puting the rest of it together..this will be my first build.. i like the Intel Q9550 and Black Magic Intensity for my first 2 components...i guess help fill in the blanks...i think i'd like to run it in Raid 0 is what i've been reading about..maybe a solid state hard drive from intel to run my computer and a couple of 500 gb hds for storage...i need help picking a good motherboard and video card out..along with ram and a chasis and cpu...and anything else u guys can think of...any suggestions would be way cool..thanks for ur time - forum and computer virgin...... p.s. my budget is $1500 -$2000...thanks |

raid if i am thinking of the same thing you are then it is when you read and write to multiple hard drives at the same time. if that is what you are thinking of doing. I suggest not doing it my experience with raid is that when 1 drive goes they both go. this is just my opinion from my experience others may offer differing opinions.

motherboard: Asus P5Q Pro
ram: Corsair XMS DDR2 800 4gig set DVD: Asus or Lite-On/ Plextor are more high end Vid card: ATI HD 4850 PSU: Corsair 650w HD: WD Black Edition 1Tb (skip the RAID) SSD for the OS could be a budget buster- 80 gig =$228 Case: look through the mid-tower offerings at newegg.com
