New here and new to building

First off, hi to everyone on these forums and thanks for any help you guys can give me.

I want to build my first PC later this year in time for my Spring semester at College. It will mainly be used as a School/Music making/Video editing/Minor gaming PC. I make music using FL Studio XXL in my spare time. I also use Photoshop and Sony Vegas to help in making Bannedstory vids which is not that stressful on my laptop so no ned to worry about that. As far as gaming goes I only play around with MapleStory and Exteel but i do play often (I may get Modern Warfare 2 and the Guild Wars series for PC). Would like things to look good.

I already have a case picked out which is a Danger Den WaterBox+ (package with Watercooling) and I will be using my old 32 in. Vizio as a monitor VO32LF. I want to have at least 2 HDDs for about 1- 1.5 TB of internal storage as I already have a WD 1TB external. I just have no idea on everything else. I want to stay within my $1000 - $1500 budget or cheaper if possible. Any suggestions on meeting these requirements?


Case and OS aren't included in budget. Still need OS suggestion though

Welcome to pcmech forums. Any advice we give you now regarding hardware will be pretty worthless by the time spring comes around.
Hang out here and read the new builds posts till you are ready to buy your system.
Both Intel and AMD are coming out with new Processors and Platforms, prices on current stuff will drop like a bad habbit and you will have many options as always.
