Gaming laptop (Alienware or Clevo)
If I'm willing to spend 3500-5000 USD on a laptop, would you guys recommend custom building an Alienware or Clevo, or perhaps something else entirely?
I have the money, want a desktop replacement/gaming machine. I know about the heat, weight, and battery life. None of those are an issue for me. I'm not worried about the way the laptop looks either. What I'm worried about is performance, reliability, usability, and the keyboard. I realize for a top of the line Clevo or Alienware M17X I will be getting a fast machine, but I want to know which one seems preferable for the speed vs. cost and the other factors I mentioned. If there is another, better option I would be interested as well. Also, what parts in this computer would be a good addition, and what wouldn't make a difference at all? Does having 1333 mghz instead of 1033 make any difference? I posted this already under the laptop forums, but thought it might be better under the build your own computer since it is a custom laptop??? Sorry if I shouldn't have done that, but should I keep it here or in the laptop forums? |

Please start the conversation in your other thread - this topic more appropriately belongs there:
