What am I missing? This is my first build from new. I've been reading a ton on the forums and online guides so I feel I'm going to be good with the install. Basicially I'm looking for some tips and recomendations as to what I need to finish my system off. I plan on over clocking in the near future but don't really plan on doing it right off the bat. Do i need multiple video cards? I want to be able to run games as intended, so if i need multpiple cards i'll get them. Money is a concern but I plan on buying a great set up. I want to push the system, and looks count as well. I want the system to run great and look good too. thanks for you help, lmk if i missed any info that you guys need to help me. Thanks Again, Adam |

The bid daddy video card currently is the Asus nvidia GTX295. Windows XP is History now, you need to get 7 the hardware you picked is exceptionally high in quality. You dont need thermal paste for heatsink because you should use stock heatsink and it comes with Intel paste on it.
The rest of the stuff you are asking about is really a personal choice, when it comes to monitors, Samsung and Asus are the best.

Thanks for the response!
I bought the cooling thingy http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...RR-920-N520-GP so I got the paste (artic 5) to go with it because the reviews said the paste that came with the cooler was poor. Is the stock heat sink better than the purchased cooler? I guess my last big concern is the OS. I want to get 7 but what can I use till then. It's not out yet (right?) I want to build this within 2 weeks from know. |

I've been looking into SSD Hard drives.....are they more hassel than there worth? Seems good to me. I'm going to get a WD 10,000rpm 150gb for my main storage but am considering getting one of these as well.
Any reccomendations, what about adapters for my desktop, i want it to be internal. thanks, Adam |

Overkill, overkill. Save your $$$ and use WD Black drives. Go research benchmarks and you will see what I mean.

Cool your jets there Mr. Farmer. You seem to be in a hurry to burn some money. What will you be using this rig for anyway? Seems to be a gaming rig but what is your main need? GLC gives good advice, cant go wrong with WD cav black. Put in a couple of the 1 tB drives and you should be good for quite a while. Make sure to get the SATA drives. You can buy both of those for around the same price as one of the SSD disks that would only hold 200gB.

Yeah I have to admit that I've gone overboard with the whole gaming pc idea.
I've always been the type of person to buy the best or something close to it. So i got some suggestions from my friends and went way above what they were telling me. Started out wanting to spend under 1000$ and know I'll be around 3000$ by the time I'm done. Use's- Gaming, internet, watching movies (blu-ray/dvd), and possibly running Autocad based programs for Construcion purposes(professional). Pretty much I want a bad ass pc that will last for quite some time. Oh yeah, i want to be able to do it on about a 40" monitor. Well I didn't check back here before I made my next purchase. I went agead and bought an OCZ ssd 60gb, i'm planning on buying the WD 72000 1tb to go with it. My next question is Video cards. I've been reading the there are new cards coming but there wont be anything to support them so it seems theres no need to wait to buy a good card. Should I buy one gtx 295, maybe 2 of them. Possible running 2x gtx 260. Any suggestions? Sorry if i seem to be wreckless with the build, thats my nature. |

A single ATI 4890 will game just fine. When it doesn't, add another one or replace it with a current decent card.
