Of the 2 CPU's which is going to be better for gaming?

I would go with the 3 core if money is not an issue it will give you better performance if you are multi-tasking. as in playing a game and burnding a dvd or listening to music.
I would go with the 790GX motherboard, the second one you listed.
Everything else you picked is high quality and will serve you real well.

What are the best drivers for the 4890 that you use? If I were to spend 150 for a grafix card and get a Nvidia which would you prefer? What league is the 4890 in compared to Nvidia? I'm guessing the 275gtx? Do I need to get windows vista 64 bit home edition or can I just use my windows xp 32 bit?

well I'm not going to have anything else opened up are you sure 3ghz isn't going to be faster than 2.8? also would this mobo be better? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131402

Ok here is what I'm going to get so far just need help with a motherboard....

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16832116677 - windows

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817371015 - PSU

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...ords%29&Page=7 - CPU

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811129066 - tower

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...ords%29&Page=3 dvd-rom

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822136320 - HD

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131402 - mobo

Question about the mobo.... which slot do I put my grafix card in the blue one or the white one? If I put it in the white one I won't be able to use my soundcard in the pci slot since the grafix card takes up 2 spaces and it will probably cramp the very last pci slot where i put my ethernet card.... so does it really matter which slot I choose? I'm just going to get 1 grafix card haven't decided but probably a ati 4890 or a geforce 260

Also if anyone recommends another Asus motherboard that will match my cpu please chime in.
