What country do you live in?
What is your budget?
What will the pc be used for?

Please update your budget. $500 isn't going to work for that and it's now a year later. You need a quad core.

May I ask why? I can tell you that GLC doesn't recommend AMD stuff. He doesn't use them and doesn't know them. There are some others here who should be able to.

personally if your going AMD the best bang for your buck is the Athlon II Quad Core here:
Newegg.com - AMD Athlon II X4 635 Propus 2.9GHz 4 x 512KB L2 Cache Socket AM3 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor ADX635WFGIBOX

Its cheap and super good for the money, i don't like recommending motherboards though, since it really depends on a lot of things and also just your personal preference

Someone has mislead you. The P55 chip set works fine with the current generation LGA 1156 i-3, i-5 and i-7 processors. You probably heard the X58 chipset is having problems. That chipset is intended for enthusiasts. There are of course many more Intel chipsets which I cannot vouch for.

Eight gigs will only make your computer go faster if you have so many applications open that you are using up the first four gigs. You will also need a 64 bit OS to utilize more than four gigs.

RAM, Memory brand rating

The 4 brands of memory I recommend are Corsair, Crucial, Kingston, and A-Data.
