New Motherboard and Ram
Hello everyone,
I thought it was about time to go ahead with another new build and this time I am venturing into the Intel I7 world. My question pertains mainly to ram (memory if you will). I am looking at http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-407-_-Product I am looking to install 6 gigs of ram on this system. Since the only combos I see on Newegg these days are (3x2) gb (PC3 12800, DDR3 1600), what would I need to do in order to achieve what I want? In other words, would I need to go with an X58 board to support triple channel or what have you? Thank You in advance. Chris

If you specifically want exactly 6 gigs, an X58 is what you need. The other option is fill up a P55 to 8 gigs or use only 4 gigs.
