myspace.com/felixvenom that should give you an idea of how it sounds now so what do i need? whats the best processor to record music? does memory matter or video cards? (i don't play any games AT ALL) also, i dont know how to make the internet work, if i need an ethernet card or whatever, im not sure ok, so if you know, tell me which best suits my need for each part? like does the motherboard matter? how do i know whats compatible with what ok thanks everyone also, my budget is like, 800, i only got 500 now but the rest'll come soon so im ready to order some parts Last edited by felixvenom; 09-20-2009 at 11:04 PM. Virtually all of today's motherboards have builtin Ethernet adapters. If you do not play games or do any kind of heavy video rendering, you can save money and get a motherboard with onboard video.
What external devices and software do you have for doing this recording? Are you using a mixer board or something like that? Is what you are trying to build a "digital audio workstation"? |

i actually just record through my processor directly into mixcraft, its a program, usually make the beat with reason but i'd like to get some mics and record the drums
but yeah, i need to have ports for mixing boards and quite a few USB too, also i want to be able to record in the higest fidelity possible, and be really fast when editing and stuff |

If you know any other musicians that are doing similar to record audio, I'd suggest talking to them to get info on the tools they use. Both hardware for input devices and software on the PC to store and manipulate or modify. this would be good to know anyway and would help to know what is needed in a system for speed and input ports and such.
