You could definitely find cheaper Ram and power supply, and upgrade something else if you want

That's a pretty poor gaming card - you can do much better in that price bracket. Add 25 bucks and get this:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814102855 (Radeon HD 4670 1gb) With the rebate, that PSU and the ram is a steal. If you can handle another $22, double the storage with a faster drive and better warranty: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822136320 (WD Black 500gb) Areas to save: You can get an Asus P5KPL-CM and save $25, it has a slot for the video card. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131288 If you don't want to spring for the 4670, at least get a 4650. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814131133 |

Thanks for the tips, all. I went ahead and switched to the 500gb Black WD, and went with the Radeon 4670. I think I'll stick with the current motherboard, I'm not sure why but I don't like working with micro atx unless I have to. :P
All in all I think it should be a pretty solid system that will last him a while. Thanks again for the help. |
