New Build In The Near Future
This would be my second build, and I've lurked these forums for a couple years now. Lot's of good info. Just wanted to get a few opinions from some of you on what I've got thrown together.
As of right now, I plan to reuse: case, hard drives, CD/DVD, Monitor, keyboard, and mouse. With that said, here is what I would need: GFX: ASUS EAH4890/HTDI/1GD5 Radeon HD 4890 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFire Supported Video Card - Retail PSU: CORSAIR CMPSU-650TX 650W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Compatible with Core i7 ... - Retail RAM: G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model F2-6400CL5D-4GBPQ - Retail Mobo: GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3P LGA 775 Intel P45 ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 Wolfdale 3.0GHz LGA 775 65W Dual-Core Processor Model BX80570E8400 - Retail Cooling: ARCTIC COOLING Freezer 64 Pro 92mm CPU Cooler - Retail Am I needing to swap anything with something else? Everything compatible? Etc... Total comes out to $710.93, with instant rebates/mail-in rebates it totals at $591.93. I'd like to keep it at or below $600 if possible. Thanks. How would this power supply do with those specs?
Antec earthwatts EA500 500W Continuous Power ATX12V v2.0 SLI Certified CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC "compatible ... - Retail It's cheaper, I know Antec is reputable, and I currently have an Antec in my current system. I'd be just over my $600 budget. I screwed up on the pricing in my first post, and can't edit it. But, those specs...with the Antec power supply, I'd be at $642.93 after rebates. You can get back under your budget by dropping the 4890 down to a 4870 and omitting the aftermarket CPU cooler.
