Replace the motherboard with an Asus P6T Deluxe V2 and you should have a stable system.

The motherboard I picked has a 5star 95% rating on newegg and is 100 dollars cheaper. I'm just trying to make sure everything will work together and the case is big enough.

You get what you pay for, to me there is no sense in putting a cheap board in a high end system. Asrock boards are made by ECS. The Nine Hundred is big enough for ANYTHING.

You picked a refuse motherboard, newegg customer rating means very little, most who rate are newbs who are clueless. If you want a solid motherboard with excellent tech support go with glc recommended, if you want a cheapy don't waste your time with i7 period!!!!!

Thanks for the welcome :-)
I will be going for the other motherboard that was recommended, no reason to cheap out on parts. I was also thinking different RAM, any suggestions? |

Khalil has quite a few i7 builds under his belt and I believe he has had the best luck with Kingston ram. Wait for him to post back for confirmation. He's the one that told us that that particular Asus board is the most stable out there - the X58 chipset in general has been VERY fussy.
The rest of the build looks solid - but you may want to at least look at the Western Digital Black hard drives - I'm pretty gunshy on Seagate since the firmware fiasco last year. |

Okay, I hear Asus has amazing customer support. All my knowledge of computers comes from reading forums and some reviews. I have never built a computer. I've read about parts for the last few years though. Always wanted to build a good computer and finally have my chance so I'm going to.
Anyways, any advice y'all give me is of much help, Thanks a bunch. :-) |

Another thing - unless you plan on overclocking, the stock CPU cooler will do the job.
