PCI slots outta style?
I've noticed that motherboards these days only have 1 or 2 PCI slots. Is this a trend across the board for all motherboards?
Was thinking of getting an iBuypower pc, but found that it only has 1 PCI slot, and I have 2 devices (a soundcard, and an external hard drive) which use PCI slots. But if all motherboards have only 1 or 2, are my devices simply outdated?

I haven't seen ANY modern boards with any more than 3 legacy PCI slots. HOWEVER:
1. You shouldn't need a soundcard with most new motherboards, the onboard sound is now better than good sound cards were not that long ago. 2. I still want to know what this "card" for your external drive is exactly. 3. Build your own PC!!! |
