help me build my new pc

Hi there
I'm engineering student; I'm looking to build a system, and would like to go AMD. My budget is
$700-750$ and I want to use the latest technologies
My main purpose for my system would be for
1- Using programs like: 3D max, AutoCAD, solid works, matlab

2-And for best gaming performance to run new games up to 2011 at least

I have parts I'd like to recycle like :HDD,DVD ROOM,MOUSE,KEYBORD,CD ROOM

NOTE PLZ:
I need MOBO that is good enough to upgrade components in future if needed
I need good cooling system and case

THANX IN ADAVNCE

That's still a good DVD burner, but 160gb won't go very far - I'd plan on a new large hard drive and retire that WD to external use. Today's motherboards only have one IDE port, and you should use SATA components in a new build.

I do not recomend buying anything recertified. Striker motherboard is a bad choice that is an unstable gaming motherboard for tweekers and the OP wanted AMD not Intel.

Here is good rig for what you are looking to do medo!

AMD Athlon II X4 630 Propus 2.8GHz

ASUS M4A77TD Pro AM3 AMD 770 ATX AMD Motherboard

G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333

Antec Sonata III 500 Black 0.8mm cold rolled steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case 500W Power Supply

Western Digital Caviar Green WD7500AADS 750GB 32MB

ASUS EAH4850/HTDI/1GD3/A Radeon HD 4850 1GB 256-bit DDR3

If you're a student running CAD software, you really need to budget for at least some type of mid-grade gaming card at bare minimum. 64bit OS helps since most CAD apps utilize all the RAM it can handle. AutoCAD is an exception since you can use it for basic 2D stuff, but 3DS Max is full on 3D NURBS Modeler that utilizes D3D and/or OpenGL very efficiently so if you provide the basics it needs it will do fine. If not, your performance will suffer severely on higher count poly's and especially if you start rendering. For the record, a $70 graphics card will do just fine for bare minimum. RAM is more important that anything with the apps you listed.
