That looks like an excellent build, should work fine, you could probably get the Antec Earthwatts 650w psu for a little cheaper, both are great. I would think that the AM3 socket should still last a while so there should be good upgradability for the CPU. Also, even though it would be more, I think that its worth waiting until october 22nd and get Windows 7.

Looks good; the motherboard should come with the necessary SATA cables. A bare drive is just the drive; it doesn't come in a retail box and doesn't come with any accessories (like software disc or cables). You may have some trouble finding drivers for windows XP 64-bit; I recommend you take a look at the various vendor sites (mainly for the motherboard and video card) to make sure that you can find appropriate drivers, if you can't find drivers, you can take a look at 32-bit XP, or perhaps Vista (or windows 7).

XP 64 is not a gaming operating system.

NFR stands for "not for resale" and is NOT supposed to be sold to the general public.

so the first question is if it is not for sale, then how are they selling it?

But the more important question is, how will it work with games, at this point I do not want to invest in windows7, isn't there always major problems when microshaft releases new OS for like the first year?

XP 64 does not work well with games, driver support has always been pretty poor. I would only use it on a system that's oriented towards business rather than multimedia. Windows 7 is the first M$ OS release in a LONG time that looks like it's going to be decent right out of the box. If you want XP, use 32 bit, it will effectively use about 3.25 gigs of your 4 gigs of memory.

NFR software is supposed to be for sale only to IT professionals for evaluation. It is not intended or licensed to be used as a production operating system. As you can see, that's not stopping vendors from selling it to anyone, but they are not supposed to do it. That's why $139 software is selling for $47. You can get totally legal 32 bit XP Home for about $90.

Windows 7 has been beta testing since 2006 - they called it Windows Vista. I'd go with 7.

what power supply is coming free? Ok hold up, Logisys is Garbage, power supply refuse. The power supply is the most important component in a PC.
You need to look at Sea Sonic, FSP, Antec or Corsair

I don't trust Samsung hard drives. They very well may be reliable these days but they sure weren't several years ago.

No George they are still unreliable as ever. WD is the best or if you gotta go cheap a Hitachi but they are loud.

Also, the 1.5 GB Seagates don't have the firmware issues that killed the 1 TB and under last year.
