i7 965 or the i7 975

Hi

I was wondering what the difference is between the i7 965 and the i7 975?

Which one would be better for gaming, photoshop, illustrator, video editing etc.?

Also I have seen that you can get a Costa Rica version of the i7 965, what is the difference between this one and the Intel version?

Any information about these CPU's would be much appreciated.

Regards
Mark

The i7 975 recently replaced the 965 as the "top tier" Intel i7 processor. The 975 is clocked 0.13 GHz faster than the 965. The 975 would be better, and is sold at the same price as the 965 was sold at. 965's are no longer being manufactured.

I have no idea what you mean by Costa Rica version. Link where you see that?

I would also like to say that I very much disagree with spending $1000 on a CPU, unless it's for a business or you have more money than you know what to do with. You'll get 90% of that performance from an i7 920. Additionally, a 920 could be overclocked to and beyond the clock speed of the 975.

You can also save even more money and get a P55-based motherboard and an i7-860.
