First build, won't even turn on D:

I've got everything hooked up(even followed the PCmech guide).

I plug in a working power cord, the 24-pin is in, hit the power switch in the back, nothing.

No fans, nothing.

So is it DOA PSU? I hope to god not.

Also, my case had the power on buttons but my mobo has no where to plug them in at, not sure if that has anything to do with it.

The power switch in back simply turns on the power supply, not the computer. You need to consult your motherboard manual and locate the Power Switch contacts. That's where you connect the case power button and also where you touch a screwdriver to the two pins to test start out of the case.

Well my motherboard DOES have a power on and reset button on the board itself, but I cannot seem to find where the cords connect to.

Nevertheless, the power switch on and pressing the power button still does not work.

PSU passed paperclip test and with the 4 pin connected, the LED lights up, but plugging into the 24 pin connector results in no power.

Follow the procedure outlined in this thread in order to assemble your computer outside of the case for trouble shooting purposes:

My board has an 8 pin power spot, yet my PSU did not include one.

However, I do have the 4 pin pwr connected and the 20+4.

My board does NOT have the PWR switch from what I can tell.

^^ Link to my manual, if anyone would like to help.

I'd REALLY appreciate it!

I got it to boot up correctly and everything out of the case, however, there was NO display with the VGA connection whatsoever.

Tested the ram, 4 different sticks.

Still no display when booting.

What could it be?

All the parts are brand new.

What brand and model power supply did you get? Being that you bought a Jetway motherboard, I'm betting its a cheapie........

If the board has an 8 pin connector, you need a PSU with an 8 pin connector.

That is NOT a good power supply. And no, it only has a 4 pin.

Are you using onboard video, or do you have a video card? If so, what card?

Make sure you connect the PCI-E connectors to the jacks on the video card.

Bought the first one, that 8 pin lacking would explain why it wouldn't display anything right.

I've heard that powers the CPU, yet I also heard the 4 pin does it(which was plugged in).

Using just a 4 pin on a board that has an 8 pin can be very marginal. It may or may not work.

I hate to put it this way, but Jetway is a very low end manufacturer and their motherboards are not particularly well made or reliable. People who buy them usually buy them because they are cheap, and quite often buy all the other components on the basis of price alone with no regard for quality. I wish you luck, and I hope you won't have to replace half the machine to get it going.

You now have a quality power supply, so you can be 99% confident that it's okay.

I actually bought it because its the only board that had what I wanted, which was:

AM2+/AM3 support
ATX
DDR2/DDR3 support

And there was another reason but it completely slips my mind atm.

You cannot mix DDR2 and DDR3 on that board - it's one or the other. Pull the DDR2.

Back to an earlier question - why did you buy that board?

Mainly because it has great upgradability for the future.

It supports my current AM2+ CPU and will support my next purchase most likely to be an AM3.

PCI Express 2.0 is a major plus as well.

Why can't I mix ddr2/ddr3? There are 2 slots for each.

Ram support is dependent on your processor and so far no memory controller supports more than one type of ram at the same time. The processor you have is an AM2+ which means it has no support for DDR3; you'll either have to pull the DDR3 to get the computer to boot, or you'll have to replace the processor with an AM3 and pull the DDR2.

All AM2+ motherboards have support for PCIe 2.0 and any AM2, AM2+ and AM3 processors; however they only support DDR2. AM3 motherboards only have support for AM3 and DDR3 ram, and they also have PCIe 2.0 support.

If you read through the motherboard manual, in the beginning section it will specifically say that you can put in up to 2 DDR2-1066 OR 2 DDR3-1333 ram sticks in there.
