Another new build

My current system is pushing 6 years...so its itme to upgrade.

case
Vid Card
Memory
Mobo
I7
Win 7

I have a Corsair PS that i am transferring. HD and DVD are also makeing the switch.

How does this look?
And instaling Win 7....would it be simialr to installing XP? Are Sata drivers still needed at first to get the sata drives to work before you install windows? This is a pita.

Windows 7 should support the SATA controller without additional drivers.

I would suggest you save some money and get an i7-860 and an Asus P7P55D board. This will use dual channel ram instead of triple channel and it will be less fussy.

Ty, for the help. My main purpose for this rig is to multibox 5 WOW clients. Crazy as it sounds, my current system does a fairly decent job running 4 clients......but if I add in a fifth, everything starts to crawl.

So, would the i7-860/P7P55D combo still be a good choice for running my setup?

The difference in performance will be very small.
