The case you get is up to you. It's hard for someone else to choose a case for you. It's a matter of personal preference. For that board, you'll need an ATX case. Other than that, it's up to you. If you can find something that already comes with a couple fans, and it's within your price range, then you're ahead of the game. : )

As for a CPU fan/heatsink....unless you plan to overclock, the one that comes with the CPU should be fine.

well if it's DDR2 then you won't be able to use the mobo/cpu i picked out for you before.
You could use this set up

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819115041
Q9550

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131377
ASUS P5Q - P45

and yes this board is still an ATX form factor so if you found any current cases that fit your GTX260 and support ATX form factor you should be fine.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...chResult=False
basically any of those will do.

You need to see what type of ram you have. If it is DDR2, then you limited to the older LGA 775 socket and if the speed is less than DDR2 800, that could further limit your choice of motherboards.

CPU will come with a heatsink & fan for the CPU.

Case may or may not come with case fans, depending on what case you get.

There are very few motherboards that support both DDR2 and DDR3 memory. You said you're going to get new memory anyway, so just make sure to get what the board you pick out supports.

As for the case, if you're getting it from Newegg, check out the specs and the reviews. From them you can tell what size fans the case will take. It will say if it has spots for 92mm fans, or 120mm fans, etc...and that's the kind of fan you'll have to get. Some cases often take multiple sizes of fans. I would suggest just picking out a case you like, and then see whether or not you'll need fans and what you'll need. Fans are cheap.

Check the specs of each from wherever you're buying from. Whatever kind of socket the cpu uses, make sure the motherboard supports that socket type. Post whatever you pick here for verification.

None of your links show us anything.

I will say, though, that you're probably going to want more than 1GB of ram for a decent gaming system.

For that CPU/motherboard combo, you will need to pick faster ram. The standard for that board is DDR2 1200. And would look for at least a 2gig dual channel kit.

It will WORK but it's too slow for that processor - you need DDR2-800. You can buy a matched pair for dual channel operation from Newegg, you don't have to buy direct from Crucial.

1. You do NOT want a X48 chipset board, trust me. Get an Asus P5Q Pro Turbo. There is nothing that differentiates a "gaming" motherboard - the term is all strictly marketing.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131377

2. Exactly what 160gb hard drive? You need an optical drive.

3. You need a power supply.

You say "future" build - when exactly are you going to build it? If it's more than a month away, it's pointless to spec out parts now.

***EDIT*** I thought this looked a bit familiar. I have merged your 2 threads, please do not start new threads about the same build. Thank you.
