First Time Build

Hey all,
A while back I had posted about a build I was going to be making for Christmas. It had been too early to make it then and I'm hoping to get the order in so it comes by Christmas. Just so you don't have to dig the old thread up and since my needs have changed a bit I'm gonna hopefully explain this well enough.

I'm looking for a PC for around 800 USD (850 if needed), most of the time it will be for school work, web browsing, ect, but I'd like a PC that could play a 3D game or two. I don't think I'll be running any extensive programs, video editing or the likes. I still need a keyboard, mouse and monitor so that will bring down the money on the actual PC. If it's not too much to ask I'd like to have a quad core and ddr3 as I'd like to support future upgrades, and windows proffesioal oem.

Sorry that im asking you to basically make me a build, but this is my first time and I dont want to mess up a build that'll cost me 800.

I was considering this drive too.

CDRinfo has a test and review of the drive here:

Are these changes good? I sort of like the antec three hundred case better and i wouldn't mind a faster proccessor. (P.S. its 3 dollars cheaper xD)

Looks good, make sure you are alright with the peripherals that you are buying; having good hardware for a computer is important, but it's only part of the experience, having good peripherals to go with the computer will make the computer easier to use and provide a better experience.

Nope, 350 watts isn't enough. All you did was miss out on a combo deal - here's the case with no PSU:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811129042

Then pick any power supply 400 watts or better from Antec, Corsair, or Seasonic.

Buy a wireless card that matches your router, if possible.

Newegg has a Corsair 400W PSU for $34.99 after rebate.

If you're interested, Fry's (the retailer) also sells the Antec Three Hundred, $49.99 with free shipping. I think some people are not so enthusiastic about Fry's (I have certainly read a mix of opinions), but my experiences with purchases and returns has been fine. I happened to be passing near to a store, so I just stopped in.

Hmm, it looks like that monitor doesnt swivel at all, and i'd like it to just because of convenience. Is this a good monitor as well? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16824236063

It's hard to go wrong with an Asus monitor.
