Help with PSU Installation for HAF 922

I am building my first PC with a Cooler Master HAF 922 case and a Cooler Master M700 PSU. The PSU is bottom mounted.

My question is whether to intall the PCU with the fan down (the "proper" way) or upside down with the fan up (to provide more air circulation in the case).

If I install it the correct way, the case will have to be elevated off the floor to provide airflow. If I install it upside down (I have read that it can) it seems like it would pull air away from the CPU and out the back of the case through the PSU vent.

Also, the PSU comes with silicon shock absorption rubber pads around the edges of the power supply. The use of these pads is optional. Should I use them?

I would appreciate your thoughts and recommendations.

The mounting holes should be offset, so you can only install it one way and use all 4 screws. The feet on the case provide enough space for air circulation, do not put the case on a carpet or other soft surface, put a piece of plywood under it.

You always want to have circulation going from the bottom up because heat rises and cooler air is on bottom. The proper way to install the PSUs in bottom mounted cases essentially isolates the PSU from the rest of the system so that it gets cool air in, and expels hot air out the back and away from the rest of the computer.
