Server Computer - Look

My current list

Right now it's set to a tower build.. I want a server one.

Will be used for hosting game servers, mainly Counter-Strike: Source

Thinking about building one and sending it to Level3 for internet connection

If you have any suggestions or equal or better hardware that costs less.. post!

If you are doing a colo, buy the server from the host and let them worry about hardware support.

My company leases seven servers to host our clients databases from-> http://www.theplanet.com/ and we've never had a problem.

Nice thing about leasing is you can walk away from the deal or upgrade to a different machine at any time.

If you just want to run CS:S I would highly suggest running with a dedicated server. I've rented from Counter-Strike.com before and they always had top notch service and reliability. They also can setup any type of game play you would want. I used to have 2 pub servers, 1 competition server and a gungame server. With a dedicated server you can have them deal with any issues that may come up when updates are available on the server side. Also their control panel is well organized and intuitive.

On a side note a i7 system is way overkill just for a server. At least that's what I think and I am no where near as informed or experienced compared to the good people here in this forum. I havd a Intel Core 2 Duo e7xxx run a CSS server and it hosted about 24 players on a LAN with no lag. I hope this helps.
