Check out this build for me...

Hey guys I am about to embark on my first ever build. I'm thinking about the following:

Antec Nine Hundred Case w/ 650W Antec Power Supply ($170)

GIGABYTE GA-MA770T-UD3P AM3 Motherboard ($80)

SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 5770 ($180)

AMD Athlon II X2 250 ($68)

4 GB G.SKILL DDR3 SDRAM ($95)

1TB Western Digital 7200 RPM 32MB Cache Hard-drive ($100)

DVD-RW Lite-On ($29)

Total ($722)

What do you guys think? I'm still unsure about the cpu, for $31 dollars more I could get either the AMD Phenom II X2 550 or the AMD Athlon II X4 620. However I was thinking of saving a bit on that since I don't think think I'd get any huge performance gains and now and besides since my motherboard has an AM3 socket, I could upgrade to AMD's latest hot thing further down the line (not to mention that I'm already spending a little more then I would like).

I don't think that cpu will work with DDR3 memory.

The CPU will work with DDR3 memory because it is an AM3 CPU. You can save a bit of money by going with an Antec 300 case and lower wattage PSU:

PSU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817371004

You can also save a fair bit of money by going with a HD4850 over the HD5770 without losing much performance (you'll lose about 15-20%): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814102824

AMD is a good option if you plan on upgrading the CPU as you will have lots of choices and won't need to do much except get a bios update when you are going to upgrade. The upcoming hexa-cores from AMD will also be compatible with the AM3/AM2+ socket so you will be able to drastically improve you CPU performance if you need.
