I see a number of things. The thing that stands out the most to me are the graphics cards. Get yourself a single 5870 or even a 5970. You will get more bang for the buck with a single card including fewer potential problems. For a gaming computer with a $2600 budget, I see no reason not to get a $600 5970. For a gaming computer, the graphics card makes more difference than anything else. With your budget, don't scrimp on the graphics card.

You won't need a 1000 watt PSU if you have only one graphics card. Get a higher quality PSU as well. See this post... What Power Supply should I get? How many Watts? Who made it? Guide Inside. If you ever think you might want to get crazy with a matching second card, then buy a 1200 watt PSU now that is approved by AMD for that card for Crossfire. You can find that on AMD/Radeon's website.

Consider getting a solid state drive to load your OS onto. The Raptor drives are not significantly quicker than 7400 RPM drives with 64 MB's of cache..or even 32MB of cache.

Others are probably going to recommend a different, more reliable motherboard...probably an Asus.

1. I'd take an Intel X25 SSD over a Velociraptor.
2. I'd take a WD over a Hitachi for a data drive.
3. Agreed. A single 5970 has two 5870 GPU's on it and will outperform two 5850's.
4. If you want a 1000 watt PSU, get a Corsair 1000HX.

That motherboard is bad news. Look at an equivalent from Asus.

1. SAS drives are not compatible with that motherboard. Use a standard SATA drive - a WD Black is the most cost-effective. If you MUST have the fastest drive out there, cost NO object, get an Intel X25-based SSD. I suppose you could use a Velociraptor, but it really isn't much faster than a Black.

2. You do not need ram ANY faster than DDR3-1600 unless you are going to be seriously overclocking. Refer to the QVL for the board for tested brands and models. Buy 2 sets of (6gb) triple channel kits.

3. You only need the Arctic Silver if you are going to be using an aftermarket heatsink - which you DO need if you are going to be overclocking. This will also void the processor warranty.

I'd rather see Corsair, G.skill, Crucial, or Kingston - but that stuff should work.
