Please offer advise, budget ~500

I have a budget of about 500 not including peripherals and monitor.

I need a computer that can run maple and matlab at the same time. I do minor gaming, just need to be able to play the current games smoothly on the lowest settings. Also, wifi is required, and it would be a plus to keep the noise low.

No. The power supply is poor quality and that's the wrong processor for a H55-based board, it doesn't have the full integrated video.

i$463.00 Does not include operating system, figure additional 100.00 if needed.

Weird that Newegg offers a combo with incompatible parts.

jdeb's list looks great to me, do I need an a separate video card for games? My university has MSDNAA so operating system isn't an issue here.

Yes, you need a video card for gaming.

Get this motherboard:

And this video card:

If you need to cut back, you can cheap out on the wireless card:

Here is my current consideration, I swapped the case because I cant resist its beauty. I might overclock a bit after reading the reviews, is that viable with my build? How reliable are Samsung HDs, I saw one at microcenter for cheap and might get it for weekly backups.

I will be using the system with Windows 7 64bit, I should usually run simulations with Maple and Matlab while streaming Netflix. I won't have a computer monitor and will be using a HDTV instead through HDMI.

Samsung hard drives are not particularly reliable.
