I want to build a custom PC for gaming and the spec's for the computer are:
AMD QuadCore 9550 16 gb ram 4 - 2 tb hard drives set to RAID 5 (sata) LG LiteScribe DVD-RW (sata) AMD FireGL V8600 Ultra-End video card 7 cooling fans 2 neon light sticks After reviewing the specs for this gaming pc, what size power supply will it require? |

The specs for that video card suggests a mininum of 650w. PSU. Just for your info, the FireGL video card is a workstation type card and not a gaming card. Gaming cards to look at from Nvidea are the 200 series and ATI are the 5000 series.

Using the Antec psu calculator (http://www.antec.outervision.com/PSUEngine) I am getting something around 750 watts (I've taken some additional consideration for expansion +10%). If you go with a better quality brand (Antec, OCZ,Thermaltake, Corsair and Cooler Master) most of these will come with some extra watts.

No Raid for gaming. Makes no sense at all. Why so much space for gaming? That is a 6 Terabite array!

Not only that, you will need a 5th hard drive for the OS - that array is too large to be made bootable.
