What is the exact error message you're getting that's preventing you from continuing with the installation?

How old is your optical drive? You have it listed as a CD-ROM and the Newegg link shows a blank product page. I would be surprised if Win7 did not have the drivers for it, but it is a possibility.

The links are all broken because he copied and pasted the specs from his build thread.

Hello.

I have a similar build, and I had the same experience: Win-7 took a long, long time to get through its setup screens.

Bump on this

I just tried to install Windows 7 again via a USB thumbdrive, and I unplugged my DVD rom, I am still getting this same message that says my CD/DVD rom driver is missing.

Are you using a genuine Microsoft Windows 7 DVD?

If you are using a genuine DVD (w/ a valid license), then you may want to try installing Win7 with only one stick of RAM in at a time. If you get the same results, put the other stick in that you took out. I've had some troubles installing Win7 64-bit on new PC's with both sticks of RAM during a fresh installation.

If you have downloaded Win7 and have a valid license then I would suggest re-downloading the ISO file and trying to burn again to disc. You could have corrupted a file during the downloading process.

Yes its genuine, though maybe different from retail since mine is a student version. I downloaded it from my school's MSDNAA.

I downloaded it 3 times already, twice in English and once in Chinese. They all yield the same error.

I will remove one ram and try it in a bit.

Are you downloading an ISO file and burning the image to disc? If so, what are you using to burn it to disc with?
