New Build, OC'ing ready

Hey guys, long-time listener, first-time caller. After my old Asus P5N died on me after a good three years of faithful service, I figure I have a bit of spare money to do a near full upgrade, so I'm pulling the trigger.

Purpose: Gaming, occasional video encoding, and general fiddling around and benchmark obsessing.

Parts not needed: Video card (I have a HD 5850 on hand), Windows 7 (God bless Bill Gates and his $32 Windows 7 for students), and everything else outside the box.

Budget: 600-700$

Case: Antec Nine Hundred Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811129021
Notes: The case is mostly an aesthetic choice, but as I don't have a brick and mortar store close to me, I can't really go and look at them. If anyone has a case they love, post it, I'm flexible. I do need good airflow as I enjoy the OC'ing.

PSU: CORSAIR CMPSU-750TX 750W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Compatible with Core i7 Power Supply
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817139006
Notes: Corsair is the just best. I only wish it was modular to save some space.

Motherboard: ASUS M4A79XTD EVO AM3 AMD 790X ATX AMD Motherboard
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131402
Notes: I always find MB selection the most difficult. What I'm looking for is a good chip-set, RAM speed support, and reliability.

CPU: AMD Athlon II X4 620 Propus 2.6GHz 4 x 512KB L2 Cache Socket AM3 95W Quad-Core Processor
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819103706
Notes: To quad core or not to quad core... I'm basing this of a Tom's Hardware benchmarking test; they've proved reliable in the past but I don't know... It does seem as though AMD is owning the ~$100 dollar market right now though, and I like to support the underdog.

RAM: G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL7D-4GBRM - Retail
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231303
Notes: I'm assuming that I can OC to be able to use this RAM at 1600, if you don't think I'll be able to with any of the components in this build, let me know for sure.

Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 ST3500418AS 500GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822148395
Notes: HDD are not exciting. I wish I could go solid state, but it's just not viable...yet.

Total: $605

I'm flexible. I have no allegiance to either AMD or Intel (or ATI v. nVidia for that matter). I'm a gamer, but I enjoy fiddling around and OC'ing more. I'm pretty well experienced in this whole process, but its been awhile and I'm not exactly up on the current trends. Let me know what you guys think, get as technical as you want.

Seagate is not recommended by us here on this forum currently. They used to be my choice company for hard drives but firmware issues and having to send back over 50 hard drives turned me to WD.
Get the Black edition for gaming.
Everything else you listed looks good. That Athlon 620 is a great processor for the price and I am very pleased with it's performance. By the way what brand is your 5850?

You can get a modular for $30 more:

CORSAIR CMPSU-750HX

^^ That's what I used for my recent build

Corsair are great but here is the perfect Power Supply for your rig and it will save you $25 and has free shipping currently.

Video card is a Diamond...

Power Supply: How reliable is Antec? Haven't bought anything but Corsair in a long time.

HDD: Point taken, I'll switch it up to a WD

Antec is very reliable, but with your wishes I'd get the Corsair modular. Diamond is an excellent choice.
