Micro ATX build

I need help for components for a micro ATX build. The person I am building this for wants the following

1. Small tower case (smaller is beter)
2. Windows 7, mainly a work computer
3. Nephews like to game, but not a gaming build
4. Wants to watch movies on it

She has Windows 7 already, so no OS is needed. She wants to keep it around $450. Thanks for any suggestions

This hinges on just how strong a video card you need. How old are the nephews, and what kind of games do they play?

The kids are 4-10, she just wants the system to handle games they would play. She has no idea about the exact games they play. I don't think it would be too graphic intensive.

I'm thinking an LGA 775 build to start. The socket 775 is going to be easier to fit your budget and depending on the size of the case it could be hard to get a video card into it. Especially since you were asking for the smallest case possible.

If I had to take a guess you would be alright with just the onboard video, but since Win7 is going to be installed you may just want lower-end video card to help Win7 run smoother...

Thanks GLC!

That is perfect. I was unsure about a case with a power supply, but I am pretty sure that unit is rock solid if you recommend it

It's a good power supply, but note it's only 350 watts. That is a big limiting factor in how strong a video card you can install. The 4550 is good with a 300, anything stronger from ATI needs a 400.
