Smile Im haing issues and maybe several

I have an approx15 yr old VPR Matrix FT 2100 PE , that seems to not be recognizing drives , and or bootiing , it has2 0ptical drives, a zip drive , a 31/2" disk drive , and 3 hard drives , a dial up modem(im now on cable/a cousin of roadrunner/ethernet) a video card , i guess its called an IDE card to be able to connect the last 2 HD......... first late last week it only wanted to start in safe mode so i let it , then shut down and rebooted , tat ended shortly, I have a spare optical drive in another comp so I swapped out after changing the jumper , from slave to master .

Im prepared to replace some major pieces prob all but the case , power supply and my known functional optical drive.

I was studying the Newegg site over the weekend forseeing this issue , advise me pls I also have a q6600 2core Quad so I selected GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3P LGA 775 Intel P45 ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail , am I on the right track?

BTW in case anyone isnt aware this is my first doing anything a comp case , so TIA for all of anyones advise . Thanx Tool .....

Don't even bother trying to swap parts.. just do a new build. If the computer is that old, the power supply won't work on the new boards and it's most likely an AT style case, new cases are ATX.
