$500 budget pc

The title pretty much says it all. I'm looking to build a budget pc for gaming and to cater to my other normal needs (internet browsing, school, etc). I have the monitor, peripherals and OS ready. It also might be worth mentioning that I have absolutely no experience in building computers as this will be my first build.

List of parts I've gathered so far (from newegg):
CPU- AMD Athlon II X4 630 Propus 2.8GHz Socket AM3 95W Quad-Core Processor
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819103704
MOBO- ASUS M4A785-M AM3/AM2+/AM2 AMD 785G HDMI Micro ATX AMD
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131595
HDD- Western Digital Caviar Black WD6401AALS 640GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5"
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822136319
PSU- CORSAIR CMPSU-650TX 650W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817139005
optics- Sony Optiarc 24X DVD/CD Rewritable Drive Black SATA Model AD-7240S-0B
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16827118030
case- GIGABYTE GZ-X7BMDX-400 Black SECC / Plastic ATX Mid Tower Computer Case
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811233049
Everything totaled so far(after instant-rebates and shipping)- $408.95

It would be helpful if you guys could help me pick out a decent gpu and ram to fit into my budget. Thanks!

I don't see both ram and a gaming quality video card without exceeding $500.

Yeh, you need at least another 100 bucks. Also you don't have an OS listed, if you don't have one that's another hundred.

You could get the ram and add a vid card later, the board does have onboard video. Or wait and save. But you still need and OS if you don't have one to install.

I can be a little flexible and increase my budget to around 550-600, but I guess that wouldn't make it a $500 pc anymore haha. With that being said maybe I could get a few suggestions for the gpu and ram now?

ADATA DDR2 800. For a video card I would go with an Asus ATI 5670 You should be right under $600, you can also save some money dropping the Corsair Power Supply and going with this Antec 430

We have gone backwards here big time.
Foxconn motherboards are below par, stick to Asus, Seagate is a no no due to firmware issues, you want WD for sure. You are going to be hard pressed to find any expert on this forum supporting your choice of hardware. That power supply is no more than a door stop or paper weight if you like.
You can build a rig for $500 with good quality components.
What you had in your first post was much better than what you listed in your last. I still think that Corsair power supply is over kill, if you are not buying a video card then the Antec 430 I recommended is all you need and it will handle a video card upgrade later if you decide to stat gaming!

Haha Khalil I think you mixed me up with the other poster. I'm going with all the hardware i posted in my op and the ram+gpu you suggested for me. I wasn't sure how many watts I needed minimally for my computer so I chose the 650w corsair, but I think I'm going to go with your suggestion of the Antec.

The Antec Basiq 500 is only $5 more than the 430 and will give you some more headroom for a stronger video card.
